And Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37
The All In Initiative
Our Primary Goal has always been to have 100 percent of our people trusting Jesus with their generosity through All IN.
We jumped ahead of the game for childcare. Our church is in what is called a childcare desert with little options for quality care. Our Center, built in 2017 provides a Christ-centered option for many families in our area. But we have already outgrown our space and we have been placed in the Knox County Planned Growth area for future development.
Primary Goal is 100% ENGAGEMENT
We challenge every person who calls Union home to allow God to work in you & through you to do abundantly more than anything we could ask or imagine through your faith and in your generosity. Each of us should examine where we are in our journey of generosity and simply take the next step God is calling.
Secondary Goal- Raise $1.1 million over the next two years
$450,000-

$150,000 to complete recreation fields and pavilion on our property for use of church and community.
Phase 2 All in for stronger ministry
$100,000 to establish a capital maintenance fund- While CEC and Parents Day Out operations include maintenance budgets, they are not sufficient to cover major facility needs. This fund will ensure long-term sustainability and readiness for larger expenses.
Phase 3 All in for sharing Christ with kids
- What is the CEC? Our Child Enrichment Center is a full-time daycare that serves up to fifty children and their families. It is more than just a daily childcare center; it is a ministry that reaches families in our area. The CEC is directly behind the main church building.
- What is the PDO? Our Parents Day Out is a part-time childcare that meets in our main building on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This center also reaches young families needing quality childcare that is Biblically based.
- What are you asking me to do? First we ask that you pray and seek God’s guidance on how you and your family can participate in Gospel-centered generosity. As God leads you prepare to be amazed. Join us on Commitment Sunday, February 15 where we commit to give and then watch God move.
- How does the All In Generosity Initiative change my regular giving? We simply ask you to give to the All In Initiative over and above your regular tithes.
- How long is my financial commitment? We ask everyone make a 2 year commitment.
- What if I am new to Union? The All In Emphasis is part of our church goal to reach this community for Christ. Your giving will impact many families who use our facilities. We believe the church is the most compelling mission to give towards.
- How much do we owe on the Child Enrichment Center? Approximately $460,000
- Will we pay this off before any future building campaign? Yes, the entire CEC loan will be paid in full before an addition is added.
- Are we preparing for future expansion in the meantime? Yes God calls us to be good stewards and this helps us have a vision and make plans for more boys and girls.
- How much will a new addition to the CEC cost? We believe around $800,000
- Why are we building a pavilion and recreation fields? For church use and for community use as well as sports teams in the future.
- How much will it cost? The estimates we have on the pavilion are close to $200,000
- When will phase two begin? Only upon the completion of phase one (CEC debt and Pavilion)
- Are the current Weekday Ministries relying on these funds for their normal everyday costs? No. Both the CEC and PDO have operating budgets to cover salaries, utilities, fire/burglar protection, etc.
- How can I get my teenager or child involved in All In? We encourage every parent to use this unique season of discipleship around giving to help their kids grow in generosity as well. First, talk with your children about giving. In today’s world, where many gifts are made online, kids may not even be aware that their parents give to the church. Creating open conversations and bringing your children “into the know” helps them understand the importance of generosity. Second, consider giving your kids opportunities to participate. This could include giving them an allowance for helping around the house and encouraging them to give at least 10% to the church or guiding them to give sacrificially by selling something or giving up something meaningful. Our prayer is that during this season, our whole church—including kids and students—will grow in their love for Jesus and experience the joy of giving.
- Why do I need to fill out a commitment card? The Commitment Card is designed both to help you and to help our church. For you, it serves as a prayerful tool to consider what sacrificial generosity looks like in this season of your life in response to God’s Word and the ministry needs of Union Baptist Church. It allows you to reflect on what has been true, what needs to be true, and provides a measure of accountability as you follow through on your commitment. For our church, it is an important resource in the budgeting process, helping us plan wisely and faithfully steward the resources entrusted to us. The Commitment Card is not a legally binding document; rather, it is a tool for spiritual growth and practical planning.
- How can I give to Union Baptist Church? There are multiple ways to give at Union Baptist Church. Many choose to give online at DiscoverUnion.org/give, where you can also set up recurring gifts. Others prefer to give on Sunday in one of our giving boxes, while some choose to mail a check to: 6701 Washington Pike Knoxville, TN 37918. If you would like to give a unique gift such as stocks, bonds, real estate, or another non-cash gift, we encourage you to contact our Stewardship Director, Fran Scalf at 865.687.4500.
