Ministry Team

Our Ministry Team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Craig Cummings, Senior Pastor

Pastor Craig has been Pastor at Union since 2000.  Originally from Knoxville, he graduated from the University of Tennessee and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife Jennifer have two daughters.

Todd Gilbert, Associate Pastor to Students and Families

Todd is a graduate of The College at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife Mandy have one daughter.

Gary Barnard, Worship Leader

Gary is a graduate of Carson-Newman College with an undergraduate degree in Music. He is currently studying at the University of Tennessee.  Gary is married to Leslie and he teaches private piano lessons.

John Thomerson, Pastoral Care Minister

John is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and Patti Sue have been married for over 45 years and have two grown children and 3 grandchildren.
